Paul B Jones currently attends James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and is a Media Arts & Design major with a concentration in Digital Video and Cinema, with a minor in Studio Art. His passion for cinematography and still photography bloomed at a young age but has blossomed since attending JMU.
Paul won third place in a local film festival in Norfolk, VA for his short film “The Man He Killed,” and has had numerous experiences with the artistic and practical use of photography while shooting various family events, local concerts, senior pictures and nature inspired pictures. He began his Freshman year at JMU working for The Breeze, JMU’s newspaper, and has since blossomed as an aspiring photographer and artist. Paul plays drums in the bandStay at Home Greg, and uses his ability as a musician to creatively photograph bands in order to capture the essence of those bands.
In the future Paul plans to create film that will change the world through the use of riveting stories. He understands that may be a big undertaking, however, without big aspirations he would feels uninspired. Paul knows that by bridging the gap between photography and filmmaking, he can create truly artistic and inspiring works of art.
Currently Paul is involved in several clubs and organizations from the Alpha Phi Omega fraternity, (JMU’s only co-ed service fraternity), to Habitat for Humanity. Paul is a man who appreciates all the beauty of the outdoors and especially loves the mountains and hills of this wonderful country, from California to the Shenandoah Valley.
